Genesis:
Mistarcia is a magical world where humans, gods, and demons mingle together. In the past, the black-and-silver winged demon beast Bahamut had threatened to destroy the land, but humans, gods, and demons overcame their differences to fight together and sealed its power. The key to that seal was split in two, one half given to the gods and the other to demons, so that they would never be united and Bahamut never released. Now, two thousand years later, the world is in an era of peace until the day a woman named Amira appears with the gods' half of the key.
With an apparent loss of memory, she searches for her lost mother and is assisted by the bounty hunters Favaro Leone and Kaisar Lidfard. Their quest is part of a larger story of an epic clash between humans, gods and demons, between those who want to revive Bahamut and those who are trying to prevent it.
Nearly all of the named angels were eventually killed off in one way or another, including one to Jean in a not-so-great trope death. Bahamut reveals that Amira was genetically stolen from her mother, (in some magical version of rape and making her a Nephalem), but also crafted implanted false memories and commands into Amira, and then sped up her growth into adulthood. In reality, she was only 5 years old.
The death of Amira’s mother was absolutely cruel, but provided what Beelzebub and Martinet needed to get Bahamut living, as well as providing some stakes in the upcoming battle.
In the end, killing Bahamut ensured Amira, still stuck, enslaved within, went with it. Favaro sets out on a journey, determined to find her so he could be with her again.
Virgin Soul:
10 years after the world escaped destruction due to the revival of Bahamut, humans at the royal capital gather wealth, the demons are enslaved to assist with the capital's revival, and the gods lose their power due to a decrease in religious piety. The world is thrown off balance as humans, gods, and demons hold their own ideas of justice.
Humans living in the capital city of Anatae have been enjoying lavish and prosperous lives. Their progress is largely due to the administration of the newly appointed king, Charioce XVII, who has stolen a power from the gods and allowed for the abuse and slavery of the demon race in the capital. As humans continue to immorally exploit demons, a sense of hostility against humans begins to build up within demon communities, threatening a revolt. Meanwhile, an atmosphere of uneasiness is spreading among the gods, as they scramble to regain their lost power.
Amidst it all, Nina Drango, a cheerful young bounty hunter, has arrived at the Royal Capital with hopes of settling down and earning a living. However, her peaceful life in the capital is quickly thrown into chaos when she crosses paths with the ominous Rag Demon who is determined to seek revenge against humans, and Kaisar Lidfard, a noble knight battling an internal moral conflict.
Like Amira, Nina has an permanent innocence. Nina has a secret she seeks to hide, however. She's only half human. One of her parents was a dragon, the descendants of the bloodline of Bahamut.
Nina finds herself fighting in the rovolt, her main friend and ally the demon Azazel, twin brother of Lucifer, and falling in love with the king.
War comes to a head as the king unleashes his ultimate plan. He brings Bahamut back in order to finally destroy it completely to stop the unending cycles of war, death and mass destruction that has nearly wiped out all the races ten years ago and is close to doing so again.
Kaisar dies, and Azazel and Jeanne stop attacking as she lets Charioce carry out his plan to kill Bahamut. Meanwhile, Nina carries Favaro and Bacchus to safety, and Favaro asks whether she chooses the world or Charioce, a similar question he had faced ten years ago. Nina chooses Charioce. Nina goes to the Dromos where Charioce is sacrificing his life to defeat Bahamut. Nina decides to pay her life as well, and together they fire the Dromos to kill Bahamut. After the battle, Charioce continues to rule Anatae having lost his eye sight, while Nina continues to work having lost her voice as payment for using Dromos. Dias takes over as captain of the Orleans Knights, and demons are no longer slaves. Favaro decides to leave Anatae to continue his journey as a wanderer, and before he leaves, Nina tells him that she met Amira as Bahamut was being defeated. Some time later, Kaisar is turned into a zombie and Bahamut's body disintegrates as Favaro can tell that Bahamut is not dead and that somewhere Amira is still alive. In the end it's shown that Nina and Charioce are dancing happily together.
