This 200 year-old public house situated in North Cotes, close to Grimsby, is haunted by a gentleman wearing a black wide-brimmed hat and a long coat. He has been spotted by many publicans and clients over the years, who seem to agree that the figure is not at all threatening. He always appears underneath the main supporting beam of the house and disappears through the staircase. Bryan Cowley, the present publican, said that the ghost has appeared to him at closing time. He has a theory that the man was protesting at the shutting of the bar!
